The family vacation: Adventure? Yes! Relaxing: Not much
THERE IS A SUMMER institution that nearly all of us have been a part of at one time or another: the institution of the family vacation. The highest and singular goal of this institution, as I understand it, is for the most participants to attain the most relaxation.

It’s wilderness, do you get it? Now stay out.
SCARCITY OR ABUNDANCE. Ants are lauded for their purposefulness and ability to move mountains but I think they have nothing on human beings. Maybe Edward Abbey says it best, “Wilderness is not a luxury but a necessity of the human spirit.”
